Built by a trader with 35+ years in the markets
KanavAI came out of running an intraday options strategy on a real account, with real charges, and wanting to see whether it held up when nothing was hidden.
KanavAI started as a private tool: an intraday options strategy running on one account, trading three index options — NIFTY, SENSEX and BANKNIFTY — on one specific condition: a clean break of the opening range set in the first five minutes of the day.
What became obvious quickly was how much the costs matter. A strategy that trades several times a session lives or dies on what is left after brokerage, exchange charges, STT, GST and stamp duty. Most performance you see advertised quietly skips that part.
So the product was built around two decisions. First, publish the numbers net, including the losing days, from a real account. Second, make the risk settings genuinely the user's — enforced by the system, not merely suggested — so nobody ends up in a position they did not agree to.
It runs on Upstox today, with more brokers planned. It is deliberately not an advisory service: it does not tell you what to trade or how much to risk, and it does not promise you a return.
Who's behind KanavAI
KanavAI was built by Mahendra Punjabi, who has spent 35+ years in the Indian markets. That experience shaped one specific thing: a disciplined, rules-based approach to intraday index options, encoded into software so it runs the same way every day — without emotion, and inside limits you set yourself.
The experience behind KanavAI informs how the strategy is designed. It remains a self-directed execution tool — it is not personal investment advice, and it does not recommend what you should trade or how much to risk.
What we hold to
You control the risk, mechanically
Not as a slogan — as an enforced constraint. Your target, stop-loss, capital, position count and daily loss cap are set by you, timestamped when you confirm them, and enforced in the backend. The algo cannot exceed them.
Net or nothing
Charges have been eating roughly a third of gross P&L on our own account. Publishing gross figures would flatter the numbers and mislead you, so every figure we publish is net of brokerage and taxes.
Losing days stay on the page
A track record with the red days removed is not a track record. Ours shows every session, good and bad, from the day we started publishing.
We never touch your money
Your capital sits in your own broker account throughout. The algorithm places orders following the disclosed strategy you authorised. KanavAI cannot exercise discretion over your trades, withdraw, transfer or hold funds.
